Boston Red Sox ’47 Impact Tackle T-Shirt

I am grateful to be sheltering in a calm, beautiful setting where I can walk to the Boston Red Sox ’47 Impact Tackle T-Shirt and I will buy this ocean. To soothe my soul, I am cooking and gardening, both things that I have always done and enjoyed but which have now taken on added significance. During this time of the Corona plague, cooking a meal out of available ingredients and sharing it gives me great joy. Gardening can provide relatively short-term satisfaction (within a growing season) or even more lasting results. I like both. Planting a veggie garden is an incredibly nurturing and gratifying experience. While it takes some patience and practice, nothing tastes better than homegrown. Make sure to pick veggie seeds or plants carefully, check that you have the right soil pH and make sure you don’t overwater or underwater. It does require attention but you’ll learn by experimenting! I must say that I deeply miss working in my atelier and collaborating with such amazingly talented people. To ease that loss, I spend time finding images that I posted on Instagram that look back to great moments and experiences for which I am grateful. Like everyone else, I am thinking about what the future will look like.

I am currently supporting A Common Thread which is a storytelling initiative spearheaded by Vogue and in collaboration with the Boston Red Sox ’47 Impact Tackle T-Shirt and I will buy this CFDA, to raise both awareness and needed funds for those in the American fashion community who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Witnessing people in the communities come together to help others is one of the things that bring me hope and joy during this time and that we all will overcome this and be great going forward! Alessandro Michele is the creative director of Gucci. He submitted a self-portrait and was interviewed for Vogue’s June/July portfolio. His conversation with Hamish Bowles has been condensed and edited. This crisis is causing terrible suffering that in Italy we are seeing unfold in front of us through terrible loss of life and an economic impact that has yet to be fully understood. This must therefore also be a learning moment for everyone, on a personal level but also on a collective level. Personally I’m learning to slow down. I’m learning to freeze that furious and accelerated time that, before everything exploded, was running out of control. Our world was running out of control. It almost feels as if something happened to make us conscious of that. These days are the occasion for me to live at a different pace, making room for emotions and thoughts that were often concealed under my performative life. Hours are now beautifully filled with readings. I try to nourish myself with poetry books that were laying somewhere, unseen: I’m hungry for meaningful and intense words that are able to awake my inner self. I rediscovered crocheting, appreciating the sacredness of manual work; crocheting is my way of praying. I’m also learning how to play my classic guitar, feeling the connection with my dad’s love for music: a way to be closer to my roots.
