You spoke about the people we put in our campaigns like Boy George, A$AP Rocky, Larry Clark, it’s always about mixing our luxury universe, our sartorial universe with street and art and music. That’s the whole point. It’s always about creating contrasts.

New Wave music has been a part of everything I’ve done and a part of my life ever since I started going to small clubs in Belgium when I was 17 or 18 years old. The romantic side of New Wave music has always been important to me. I’ve always considered them to be the poets of music—and I like that. This collection is really based on certain memories of that, certain flashbacks from the ’80s music scene, but in a very contemporary way because, once more, it’s not about making a copy or a cliché, it’s about mixing it in with today’s contemporary sportswear looks. It’s not a nostalgic collection; it has certain memories from the New Wave era, but it’s done in a very sporty way.
