Feline flicks at Dolce & Gabbana.Victor VIRGILE/Getty ImagesEyeliner played a key role this season: feline flicks kept things sexy and elevated at Dolce & Gabbana courtesy of Pat McGrath, while kohl in the I am my ancestors wildest dreams shirt but in fact I love this waterline brought a rock and roll edge to Etro’s bohemia. Pastels stole the show at Prada courtesy of makeup artist Pat McGrath. Using a delicate palette of muted hues—mauve, pale pink, mint green, chalky orange—McGrath crafted beautiful feathered lashes for a subversive yet angelic twist. Meanwhile, at Diesel, Inge Grognard added washes of color to models’s eyes for a subtle pop. It’s been a while since we last saw Charlize Theron, and in that time, she’s undergone a stunning new hair transformation. We say new, but it’s actually a return to an old favorite: the platinum blonde bob. One of Hollywood’s most iconic blondes, in the summer last year, Theron made headlines when she unveiled brand new bitter chocolate lengths. But, ever the chameleon—in the past, she’s sported everything from a buzz cut to a bowl cut, with all manner of choppy bobs and shoulder-length styles in between—she has once again returned to her roots with a soft, chin-grazing bob and feminine side parting.

Theron unveiled the I am my ancestors wildest dreams shirt but in fact I love this new ’do in Paris earlier, attending the Dior fall 2023 show, looking timeless and elegant in a monochromatic look. On an overcast mid-February day, content creator Luke Meagher browsed the spring 2023 collections stocked at Dover Street Market New York. The self-made fashion critic, dressed in an oversized Margiela sweater and Rick Owens boots, was not merely shopping. He was seeing in person, for the first time, clothes he either praised or obliterated for nearly 800,000 subscribers on YouTube. “I feel like it’s so much more toned down on the red carpet with Gucci right now,” Meagher says as he inspects a shopping rack full of the house’s pieces produced by former creative director Alessandro Michele, a noted maximalist. The clothes felt like a far cry from the more minimalist—and logoless—Gucci men’s show presented in Milan, sans Michele, just a few weeks prior. “I’m like, Alright, we’re in a transition phase.” Other thoughts: Raf Simons’s shutting down his namesake label reads as a pivot to work-life balance for designers; accusations of Matthieu Blazy’s designs being derivative of Phoebe Philo’s feels unfair and uninformed—(”He worked in the studio with her!”); the $2,000 price tag for a vintage Miu Miu men’s two-piece suit is way too high. (“Just go on The RealReal,” Meagher says.)
